AAPM CODE OF CONDUCT AT MEETINGS AND SOCIAL EVENTS TO REPORT AN INCIDENT: aapm.ethicspoint.com OR (888) 516-3915 AAPM is committed to providing a safe and productive meeting environment that fosters open dialogue and the exchange of professional and scientific ideas, promotes equal opportunities and treatment for all participants, and is free of harassment and discrimination. AAPM prohibits any form of harassment, sexual or otherwise, as well as other unprofessional behavior at its meetings and social events. This Code of Conduct outlines AAPM’s expectations for all meeting attendees, speakers, exhibitors, staff, contractors, and guests at AAPM meetings and social events. Consequently, individuals must use discretion to ensure that their words and actions communicate respect for others. This is particularly important for those in positions of authority since individuals with lower rank or status may be reluctant to express their objections or discomfort regarding unwelcome behavior. Harassment intended in a joking manner still constitutes unacceptable behavior. The AAPM 64th Annual Meeting & Exhibition, held in Washington, DC, gave us the opportunity to meet together after two years of virtual meetings. We decided that this was one of many reasons to celebrate guiding our meeting theme: “Celebrating Medical Physics: Transforming Human Health”. The Presidential Symposium reflects on our humanity and the great impact of medical physics on human health. Across the board, the meeting program spans the range from classic to new medical physics. We’re offering exceptional scientific, educational, and professional symposia, proffered sessions, and the ever-important Early-Career Investigators Symposium, along with a host of continuing education opportunities. Our technical exhibition will provide the long-awaited opportunity to meet with vendors, visit their new products on the floor, and discuss their services and support. Washington, DC, the Nation’s Capital, is a unique city with rich and cultural diversity. The Washington Convention Center is within walking distance of notable museums, dining, evening entertainment and the Metro. The National Mall, home of the Washington Monument, Capitol, Smithsonian, and other national treasures, is a quick ride from the convention center. Major league sports are also available, with the Washington Nationals baseball team hosting games over the dates of the meeting. The city offers these great attractions and more with significant history and culture, all in a compact region. Maintenance of Certification/Self-Assessment Modules (SAM) Many AAPM members now require Maintenance of Certification (MOC) as defined by the American Board of Radiology (ABR). SAM are not required but can be used to meet the ABR self-assessment continuing education requirements (SA-CME). To provide increased SAM offerings and allow the maximum time for speakers to cover presentation content adequately, SAM questions are no longer embedded therein, so audience interaction is not needed. To successfully obtain SA-CME credit: • Stop by the Registration Desk to retrieve your

badge and beacon. • For In-Person — Attend the SAM session in its

entirety (attendance is verified via beacon technology). • For Live/On-Demand On-Demand — View — View the SAM the SAM session session

recording in its entirety (attendance is verified electronically online). • After attending/viewing sessions in their entirety,

SAM questions associated with the session must be answered in the Online CEC Evaluation System anytime during the meeting and/or up to sixweeks post-meeting. • SAM quizzes during this period are not scored on

a pass/fail basis, but all questions for a respective session must be answered to earn credit. • Responses are a self-assessment of knowledge

gained during designated sessions. Attendees will be provided with an aggregate of how others responded to each question overall in the evaluation system. • The Online Evaluation system will remain open
